People of the Abyss was a physical theatre piece set in the slums of London in 1899 and based on the accounts of Jack London. This was an original collaboration with the physical theatre company, Prodigal UPG.
Each actor portrayed the same character, Jack London, when they wore their jackets which had an identical design. For the project, the team of five makers was responsible for a jacket and a pair of trousers. It was important to communicate within the team of makers and with Arabella, the designer.

I learnt tailoring skills during this project including pad stitching, using chest and collar canvas and jet and welt pockets. It was also important to collaborate with the actor, Suzy Kohane, during fittings to ensure she could move easily in her costume during the physical theatre sequences.
